By 2030, we’re committing to invest in at least 1000 producer businesses and collectives - to increase their positive impact in the world.

We’re aiming to build a world where all trade is fair – and this is a powerful step in that direction.

We don’t have the resources to do this today. That’s why we’re launching the 1000 businesses appeal - to scale up the impact and ambition of our work at a time where the world really needs it.

    Producers take a small amount of support and use it to strengthen businesses that benefit families and communities for years to come.

    Your early donations help us to achieve the results which we can use to draw in more support from wider networks – you start the snowball rolling down the hill.

    As we build a network of alternative, producer businesses, we can use their example to influence mainstream trade – and challenge the entire system.

Every year we see new producer collectives and businesses starting out.

They demonstrate true fair trade principles in new and exciting ways - all the while living in the most difficult circumstances.

But in the cut-throat world of trade – where paying people fairly is somehow an ‘alternative’ practice – these businesses can all too easily die out. It’s a rigged system.

Our plan is to partner with 1000 alternative businesses and collectives – we’ll help them secure and grow their positive impact in their community. We’ll show the world that a different way to trade is possible.
